Elmo Rietschle is the inventor of the liquid ring pump and hold the first patents of this technology. Over more than 100 years, we have constantly developed and improved these pumps.

Beside air, Elmo Rietschle liquid ring pumps are able to handle a lot of different gases, including gasoline vapor, sulfur dioxide, chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, or vinyl chloride monomers, just to mention a few. Depending on the process and the gas handled, a seal liquid other than water may be needed. Many liquids can be used as a seal, including acetic acid, acetone, glycol, xylene and many other chemicals.
